I have been working as a professional singer in the business for the past 17 years, I just released my 2nd CD called In the meantime..
It is a collection of songs that people have requiested over the past 5 years or so. My next CD will be mostly original Afrikaan songs, so watch out for that. I am planning a countrywide tour in 2009 and am looking forward to meet lots of new friends all over our beautiful country South-Africa. If I'm not coming to your town and you'd like met to, please drop me a line so I can organize a show there.

1. Get live music. (of course I would say that..!)
2. Place the band equally close to the bar, your guests and the dancefloor
3. Feed the band early- so they can start the party as soon as everyone's had their food
4. Give the band some info on the guest eg. who to tease and who to pull up on stage etc.
5. Let the band know about any special songs you know your group will love.
6. Don't book a band who charges less than R1000 for a gig - if you pay peanuts you get monkeys!
7. Make sure that you are familiar with the bands performance so there's no surprises on your special night. Don't always trust referrals, someone else's 'great band' in not necessarily up to your standards.
8. Have a bottle of tequila ready if the energy levels are low - always a winner!
9. It is always better to serve snacks than a big sit-down dinner.
10. Make sure to invite all your crazy friends. Shy guests take longer to get started.
